Board Development

A high-performing unitary Board is the backbone of an organisation’s success. The Board not only sets out the strategy but also shapes the culture of an organisation and is responsible for role modelling the standards for leadership behaviours that create trust and confidence.

We design and deliver programmes to support you to reach your full potential as one cohesive team, with each member contributing to the overall Board’s performance and the wider system within which it operates.

Executive Development

Executive leadership is about the ability to collectively and compassionately lead across organisational boundaries and inspire others through uncertain and ever changing times. Encouraging people to learn from past experiences, take on new challenges and make decisions under pressure.

Our programmes are founded on compassionate leadership, which encourages leaders to bring their true selves to their role in order to achieve their full potential and inspire others around them.

Senior and Aspiring Leaders

Leaders who are inclusive, create the conditions for improvement and lead with compassion have the greatest impact on people, teams and therefore overall performance.

Our programmes are created within the framework of self, team, organisation and system. We work with leaders at all levels within professional groups, departments, an organisation or across a system.  We provide practical skills and knowledge in order to create a shift in mindset needed to create lasting value in service of the organisational priorities and its values.

Team Development

The most highly effective teams are those who regularly take time to build trusting relationships, agree a collective way forward through a shared vision, set of objectives and behaviors and reflect on how well they are doing against them.  We have vast experience working with teams at every stage of their development and believe it is essential for teams to have time together to enable growth, perspective, celebrate successes and face challenges together.

Our team facilitation and coaching approach is supported by research evidence; we take time to understand the collective goals and facilitate the journey to achievement.

Organisation and System Wide

Systems leadership is about working across boundaries with diverse groups of people to build a culture in which system approaches can flourish. This requires true co production and creativity to enable transformation at a system level.

We meet with system leaders and partners to design bespoke programmes/interventions that enable system wide sustainable change.

Examples of programmes we have run in the past 3 years:

  • ICB community mental health system board development

  • Community mental health Trust culture change programme

  • ICB systems leaders check and challenge session focused on learning from never events

Building internal capacity

Action learning

(ALS) is a process where individuals meet regularly to reflect on real work issues, experiment with a new process for problem solving and receive feedback and new insights from colleagues. ALS has proven to be highly successful to enable group collaboration and problem solving. We offer two roles to support action learning (i) set facilitation – we facilitate 3-6 sets with teams/groups of up to 8 people per set and (ii) ALS Train the trainer  - we run a 12 month train the trainer course for up to 25 participants to teach them how to facilitate set meetings and run an ALS.

 

Internal OD team development

– this is where we act as a critical friend to support internal OD teams clarify need, crystalise their offer and consider additional support required.

Individual development

Leadership coaching

Leadership can be a lonely and isolating role, we provide 1:1 confidential coaching support for leaders at any level to help them deal more effectively with the demand of the role or context they are working with. Typical process for coaching would be:

Chemistry call to clarify the right coach followed by between 3-6 bi-monthly 90 minute coaching meetings. Psychometrics are often used as part of self discovery

 

Personal branding and effectiveness

We know that authentic leadership leaves a lasting impression, therefore, understanding the importance of your personal brand and image and how it aligns to your personal values is essential when leading and influencing others.  We offer 1:1 and group support on building confidence by investing in exploring your personal brand, style and image.  We use an evidence based approach which is individualised to meet your needs in both a professional and personal setting.
